Setting in a work of narrative is the time and location in which a story takes place that sets a backdrop for a story. In Pygmalion, the setting of the play is in London, England in the early 1900's. The play has three different locations in which most of the action takes place; Covent Garden, Mr. Higgins's office, and Mrs. Higgins's apartment. These are all located in the center of town; a very fashionable location. The setting paints a picture of a high class neighborhood and way of life.
