Stereotype is a commonly held general assumption for a particular type of person or culture or thing. While most stereotypes derive from a small seed of truth, it is not always true statement that can be made in general. An example of stereotypes in Pygmalion is when Higgins is talking to Doolittle, and makes the general statement that all Welsh are thieves. The Colonel then argues that not all Welsh are thieves.
